WELLNESS COUNSELING + EDUCATION
“Finding a caring, compassionate naturopath that is invested in your health and wellbeing is half the battle. The other half is that our clients be equally invested in achieving the agreed goals”
— JODI JUNOD

Disease-
A disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific signs or symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury.
Dis-Ease-
Indicative of a body being MINUS something that the body needs to be at optimum health.
Jodi looks at the full picture to get to the root causes of a client’s symptoms, addressing disease and dis-ease solutions.
The Naturopath brings together a wide breadth of work, from research, tests, counseling, to education. Jodi stays with her clients through the whole course of their wellness journey, and in accordance with the agreed upon plan.
What to Expect
The first step is to book a meeting with Jodi.
Prior to finalizing your booking, you will be prompted to fill out an initial intake form to prepare Jodi for the call.
Upon submitting your intake form, an email will be sent to verify your email address and confirm your appointment.
THE WELLNESS JOURNEY
-
Jodi will complete the initial intake session. This involves a secondary questionnaire based on your preliminary answers, a one-on-one call to discuss history, symptoms, and any additional questions, to determine what tests may be required to get a better understanding of your unique health and wellness puzzle. From there, a plan is developed.
-
You will gain additional life tools such as breathing and grounding techniques, exercise and other practices to shift energy. You may also receive diet and supplement recommendations.
-
If there are areas that are outside of Jodi’s wheelhouse that need to be addressed, during or prior to the work sessions, Jodi will refer her clients as appropriate.
-
The goal is to find out why you’re experiencing the issues that you are, and this often takes some digging. Practicing the functional medicine approach, getting to the root cause, is the key to the “why”.

Since there are many contributors to Alzheimer's Disease, there are many diagnostic tests that need to be done to find the main contributors to the patient's cognitive decline. There are 6 types of Alzheimer's Disease, Inflammatory, Glucotoxic, Atrophic, Toxic, Vascular and Traumatic. Finding the root causes of cognitive decline is of the utmost importance to successfully treating Alzheimer's. The areas that are addressed are diet, exercise, sleep, stress, nutrient deficiencies, insulin resistance and diabetes, chronic infections, cardiovascular disease, head trauma, dental health, oxygenation and sleep apnea, inflammation, toxic overload, and mast cell activation. This process can take a year or more but improvements can sometimes be seen in 3 to 6 months.

Assessment of the severity of the diabetes using blood work would be done and then an implementation of a low carbohydrate diet and intermittent fasting protocol would be established. Blood sugar lowering herbs would be added to the protocol if necessary.
For on-site patients we would also provide PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) therapy, used to improve circulation. This would all be done working alongside the patient's primary care physician.
-
A low histamine diet would be implemented along with DAO enzymes to break down histamine that is ingested. Mast cell stabilizing compounds would also be part of the protocol.
-
There would be an initial information gathering period to understand if there are additional factors allowing Lyme bacteria to thrive in the body. These factors would be addressed prior to treatment. There would also be a period of opening detoxification pathways and some cleansing, so the patient's body is not overwhelmed with endotoxins when the Lyme bacteria start to die. Enzymes would be used to break open biofilms under which the Lyme bacteria can thrive undetected by the immune system. Immune modulation would be another part of treatment so that the TH1 part of the immune system is at its strongest to aid in the eradication of the Lyme and any other co-infections that are present. An anti-inflammatory diet is also part of the protocol to keep the patient more comfortable and minimize the injury to the body.
For on-site patients energetic testing would be used to find which herbs are most effective against Lyme and any other pathogens present.
-
The first step to treating mold related illness is finding the source of the exposure and removing the patient from that exposure. ERMI testing is an effective way to get this information. Once this has been done, a diet and supplement protocol using anti-fungal herbs and diffusing the home and work environment and with antifungal essential oils would be implemented.
ERMI is completed through the mail.
-
The first step in addressing toxic overload is to find the source of the toxicity and remove the patient from that source. Since toxins can remain in the body for many years, lab testing would be used to find all toxins from present and previous exposures. We would then begin to open up detoxification pathways and support the organs of detoxification. Once the patient's detox pathways are supported and cleared, a protocol would be implemented to remove the specific toxins present. Binders would also be used to keep the toxins that have been released from being reabsorbed.
-
The first step to addressing autoimmune conditions is to find what is triggering the immune system to attack the body and remove those triggers. Diet and supplementation would also be used to lower inflammation and modulate the immune system to bring it back into a healthy balance.
-
A comprehensive stool exam would be the starting point for treatment. A list of symptoms would also be compiled. Once this information is evaluated a diet for the specific needs of the patient would be implemented along with probiotics, prebiotics and inflammation would be addressed.
For on-site patients, energetic testing would be used to find the supplements that best support the needs of the patient.

Chronic inflammation is a serious condition that can trigger autoimmune disease and even cancer. Finding the root causes of the inflammation is essential in bringing the body back into an uninflammed state. This is done through information gathering, energetic testing, a comprehensive stool analysis and an elimination diet. Removal of triggers and immune modulation would be used to stop the inflammatory cycle and bring the body back into balance.
